Government would do anything to hide their secrets

I honestly think that the government was the enemy of said ancestors since they don't want it to be known

zangli • 1 year ago

yeah i'm pretty sure that aws heavily implied

Luffy Dragneel • 1 year ago

Yeah, no kidding. But something happened that they clearly don't want known.

Luffy Dragneel • 1 year ago

Yup. And it's true for real life too.

the people that took robin in are assholes. a two year old girl just lost her mother (and your sister) and you’re threatening her

Tox.icle • 2 years ago

it is anime after all

Luffy Dragneel • 1 year ago

...she's not 2...She'd be one helluva 3 year old if she can speak proficient English, read, write AND understand a made up language. She's actually 8. Iceberg mentions her age when she got her bounty and well, it's pretty obvious she gets her bounty right after destroying Ohara. And she doesn't have a sister. Only a mother. The only sister she has is more like a half sister she doesn't even care about.

Saino • 1 year ago

I don't think you understood the comment. so your explanation is all over the place and I'm too lazy to explain further sry

Luffy Dragneel • 1 year ago

I did understand his comment. He made an error in her age. I made a little joke in the first 2 sentences, then I mentioned her actual age at the time and not "all over the place" at all. It was organized, lol.

Aisha • 4 months ago

no you didn't understand, they were talking about Robins uncles family, she was 2 when she was forced to stay with them.

Luffy Dragneel • 3 months ago

They weren't when referring to a 2 year old ffs.

Karen

Luffy Dragneel • 1 year ago

What?

SapphireDragoon • 1 year ago

I think they meant the asshole aunt was a stereotypical Karen.

Luffy Dragneel • 1 year ago

That's a reasonable assumption, but I never mentioned her.

The Orlando Gray • 2 years ago

If this wasn't an anime I'd agree with the world government.

Mingo • 2 years ago

Nah nothing excuses killing the innocent and destroying peoples homeland

The Orlando Gray • 2 years ago

I would agree that researching this ancient history probably isn't the wisest idea. I mean if you were one of those scientist and could make a fortune selling your research to someone like Crocodile that offer might sound tempting. Then there is the saying power corrupts. If they were to discover the secret to this ancient weapon someone might get the bright idea to build it themselves, recreate the world in their image.

Killing the scientist I understand, but the civilians who probably knows nothing about this research was pushing it. Killing the scientist and destroying the island was a big enough warning to anyone seeking this knowledge.

Chris Langlois • 2 years ago

so u just agreed with him, nothing excuses killing the innocent, killing the leader or those responsible can b just, not always, like in this case. the heads of the government obviously feel remorse for what those in the past did and what they feel they have to do. but ofc their also huge hypocrites 1 reason being they wont do anything to change things for the better, actually things were better some centuries ago, less cruelty and disregard for life. the government have pulled around a 300 degree turn so far, things arent as bad as the blank century but their on the way there, i bet uve gotten to the episodes that explain this well and give more of a full picture by now.

The Orlando Gray • 2 years ago

My thought process was that if this situation were to happen for real then I'd agree with the marines. True, the marines are the bad guys here, but that is just how the story is written. In the real world, no one is innocent or perfect. If that research is truly dangerous as they say then you'd have to question some of the motives of the researchers. There could easily be one Black Beard or two hidden in the mix.

Then if that's the case why could they get to know about the knowledge because why did the man say "they know too much" why can he have the right to know but not the rest of the world? Also let's talk about the present, why do they want the pluton weapon now? "to make the world a better place?" bitch please... No offence

Ragazza • 1 year ago

You're totally right. At the end of the day, no one has the right to
tell any other person what they can do, how they should live, what to
research, learn about, or understand (or even put into their own
bodies). We each of us have free will, it's what people DO with the
knowledge they gain that makes it good or evil, and will no doubt be
based on the integrity of each individual. 'Governing' people about what
is right or wrong, what is allowed or isn't, is just another attempt of
control, by making it seem like that control is needed when it's not.
It's like all those stupid gun laws they keep pushing, it only hurts
legitimate people since criminals will be getting their weapons
illegally anyways so you should ask yourself, why do they keep pushing
that then? Things that make you go hmmm...

"Why can he have the right to know but not rest of the world?" let's just say it's something like a nuclear launch code so if everyone were to know the codes and had the means to launch the nukes whenever they felt like what do you think would happen!? The world would turn into a graveyard. It's true that some people want to know it for the sake of knowledge but the majority of them out there just want to use it for their own selfish gains. Humans are innately selfish and it's one thing you can't change no matter what!

Ragazza • 1 year ago

I usually love your comments Marco, I'm sure you are just such an awesome person in RL, I really feel that about you, but when I hear you make comments about humanity and how selfish they are, it just makes me sad for you. People are NOT like that, terrible situations, circumstances, pains, hurts, betrayals, turn people into those things with time and continued oppression, but it's not because they truly want to be that way. Most people are running on 'flight or fight' reflexes their whole lives and when you're in that mode, you just aren't yourself. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Human beings are some of the most compassionate, caring, ingenious, creative, and selfless people in the cosmos and I have been through hell and back to be able to say things like this. I have experienced first hand just how true these words are. We all have bad days and the world itself is having a very bad time (for a long while now), but we can help it by remembering that we ALL have it in us to be better, to be kinder, to be more compassionate. You need to BE the change you want to SEE in the world. I'm sure you have your reasons for your beliefs Marco, I'm sure you've felt the sting of betrayal more than once, but don't let the stings keep you from smelling the rest of the flowers that life has to offer. Sorry for this msg, but I do love reading your posts, and I just wanted to reach out. Peace my friend, you're an awesome guy!! Just keep believing, okay? It does get better, people too :)

Marco The phoenix • 1 year ago

Thanks for your kind words I really appreciate it! I agree There are many human beings who are very kind and compassionate as you said but I've never met anyone like that besides my mother. I never had any real friends in school with whom I can share some good laughs. They only stuck around cause I was an idiot and easy to fool. I'll tell you a couple of instances, back in 2nd grade I was a bit late for a test due to waking up late and my so called friends(with whom I have studied with since kindergarten to high school) didn't even bother saving a seat for me, I had to sit in the very last one. In 7th grade there was supposed to be a group science project for science fair, I made a group with my so-called friends and I was the money manager. We all pooled the money together and bought the stuff but the fair got cancelled, they all asked back for their money and I had to pay them cause they just want their money back. I had to pay them back from my parent's pocket cause they don't care for my loss all they want is their money back. There was another one in 8th grade, I didn't study for the math test cause I was ill and again my so called friends didn't even tell me a single solution just cause they don't wanna whom I have helped countless times. There are quite a few more but I guess this is enough of a bitching! So I guess The reason I started to think that humans are innately selfish is cause throughout my growth phase I was only surrounded by people who only cared about themselves. After 8th grade, I got into anime and manga and I really love this community a lot. Some may say this is an coping mechanism but ever since I joined this community I met a lot of awesome people(I mean I figured they are like that in real life by chatting with them) and I really enjoy myself here. You're one of those awesome guys who even bothers to cheer some random weeb on a pirated site. Thanks a lot if you read this, I appreciate your kindness from the bottom of my heart! Wish you luck in life! peace:)

What a bunch of bs, lol. The World Government could've EASILY found ways to minimize information about the Ancient Weapons getting out. Not to mention it's clear they don't give a shit about the ancient weapons and only these scholars can understand the Poneglyphs, so keeping them in line shouldn't be too hard and won't be since they don't even care about that. They clearly want to keep whatever secret they're hiding a secret and don't care how many lives are lost doing that.

Luffy Dragneel • 1 year ago

Not everything the government says is true. They keep secrets all the time.

The Gorosei act all high and mighty and act like they were going to spare the scholars and act like they're doing justice for the world when they're clearly just a bunch of self righteous dicks who love power. And the wife of the brother of Olivia is such a bitch. As if she wouldn't be the same if that happened to her. I'm glad she died along with those asshole citizens that were mean to Robin. Can't wait till the episode/chapter will come where they get their asses handed to them and the truth gets out. Whatever it is.
